Confused about what you need to volunteer at Hickman? You’re not alone!
Here’s a quick guide on key requirements:

Live Scan: A one-time requirement. Once you’ve been fingerprinted and cleared through the California Department of Justice (DOJ), your clearance stays valid with SDUSD - you do not need to repeat it each school year, even if you move between schools within the district.

Important: Live Scan results are not transferable. For example, a Live Scan completed for Little League will not transfer to SDUSD.

Volunteer Application: Must be renewed yearly.

TB Clearance: Valid for 4 years, unless a new risk assessment or test is required.​

Our first Book Fair of the year runs through Friday, September 19th in the library (note the new location!). Don’t let your child suffer Book Fair FOMO - help them stock up on the latest titles.
