GARDEN CLUB
The Hickman Garden is a multicultural, edible landscape where students experience the taste of new and unusual vegetable varieties. Where learning blooms all year round. Where all are welcome and have a place.

Since the revival of our garden program in Fall 2023, our garden committee — composed entirely of volunteers — has transformed the space from a plot of waist-high weeds into a vegetable and flower garden that students can enjoy.
BRIEF HISTORY

By 2024, the garden had blossomed into a student-powered program. Kids took the lead in caring for the space during Fridays at recess. Garden Club sessions were launched after school. Whenever the garden was open, there was never a shortage of students wanting to exercise their green thumbs.
This year (2025-2026) brings another exciting milestone — the launch of the garden as an outdoor classroom! We are continuing to grow our garden so that more students and teachers can enjoy the space for an enhanced learning experience.
PAST EVENTS

Huge thanks to everyone who joined us for our first Beautification Day on Saturday, September 27th! Team Hickman accomplished so much, from building new garden beds to installing solar drip irrigation and giving the garden a much-needed cleanup.
