Mira Mesa Cluster Schools
Within the San Diego Unified School District, schools are arranged into clusters to foster stronger community ties. Clusters consist of a high school and the middle and elementary schools that feed into that school.
-
The establishment of clusters ensures a seamless educational journey for local students, from pre-K through 12th grade.
-
Cluster councils actively advocate for their schools within their communities.
-
These councils collaborate with schools, community members, and district staff to elevate the quality of education in their local schools.
-
Cluster councils function as representative bodies embodying the diverse school community, including teachers, administrators, support staff, students, parents, and community members.
As a united entity, the Mira Mesa Cluster School (MMCS) Council excels in creating an environment of exceptional learning opportunities for all children. MMCS firmly believes in the shared responsibility of education among school staff, students, parents, and the wider community to enhance student achievement. The cluster places paramount importance on addressing the varied academic, social, and personal needs of the schools within it.
Meetings typically see participation from school principals (or associate principals), parents/caregivers, and representatives from community organizations like the Mira Mesa Town Council, Mira Mesa Library, and the MCAS Miramar School Liaison.
Everyone is welcome to attend these Cluster meetings, which occur regularly throughout the school year. Schedule to be announced soon!
